Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden title for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a challenging year, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Currently training with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set victory over opponent Moutet.
This represents his initial trophy following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court since March of that year.
Victory also signifies he has secured 21 championships at twenty-one different tournaments.
"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my children at once, so to win a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six finals, featuring in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted observers to wonder if his skill to compete at the highest level was over.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and perform aggressively, supported by an enhanced service.
The champion came back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, securing four of the final five games to gain the advantage.
Both players traded breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden professional victory, gained dominance to force a final set.
Moutet rescued four initial break points in a close final set before the Russian won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, he secured the title with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
